WebDec 25, 2007 · currie "high 9" isnt a true 9 it uses 8.8 gears just putting that out there Ugh how wrong you are, it does not use 8.8 gears from an 8.8 otherwise it would just be a high pinion 8.8 which does exist. It uses a custom 8.89 gear made for them just like "true high 9" uses a custom 9 inch gear.

WebJun 6, 2014 · The Hi9 is a true purpose built 9" with a high pinion. Even Currie says not to use there diff in heavy or high powered rigs. It was made for little CJ5s. There is no factory application for this. You will never find a junkyard version. They are 100% aftermarket.
