To be admitted to practice in New Mexico attorneys in other states must: Have admitted via bar exam in another jurisdiction allowing similar admission standards to that of New Mexico Webbar exams and bar admission requirements. In order to “practice law” in the courts of a particular state, someone must first be admitted to the bar of that state. An attorney who passed the New York bar exam and is admitted to practice in New York, for example, “Without bar admission in at least one state, your resume can work against you.”
