The canoe Te Arawalanded at various points around the Coromandel Peninsula, and those on board named several places, including Moehau Mountain. WebRuawehea was a descendant of Ngāti Hako who were regarded as the first settlers of Hauraki. Many of the Marutūahu descendants whakapapa to Ngāti Hako through Ruawehea. She was the second wife of Tamaterā the second son of Marutūahu. They had three sons but the most famous was Taharua. As well as bringing peace
